Block counts for every diameter from 1 to 32. Filled is a solid floor. Outline is the rim, for a hollow circle or the shell of a tower.

Minecraft circle generator, sphere generator and circle guide

A Minecraft circle generator answers the question the build is stuck on: which blocks are in, for this diameter. The same page is a Minecraft sphere generator. Scrub the layers and stack them. An ellipse uses two numbers when the floor is wider than it is deep.

The chart above is the Minecraft circle chart for diameters 1 through 32. Odd diameters have a centre block. Even diameters sit between two blocks, which is why a 16-wide tower looks different from a 17-wide one.

How to build a Minecraft circle

  1. 1. Set the diameter. Type the diameter in blocks. Odd numbers stay symmetric, which is what a Minecraft circle chart is drawn for.
  2. 2. Pick circle, ellipse or sphere. Circle is a flat floor. Ellipse takes a width and a depth. Sphere steps through each layer from top to bottom.
  3. 3. Build or download. Copy the grid, or download a PNG of the layer. Outline mode keeps only the rim, for a hollow tower or a dome shell.

Frequently asked questions

How does a Minecraft circle generator work?
Each block is included when its centre falls inside the radius. That is the chart builders use: diameter 5 is a plus with the corners cut, and larger odd diameters stay symmetric so the build has a centre block.
Can I make a sphere, not just a circle?
Yes. Switch to sphere and scrub the layer slider. Each layer is the horizontal slice of a solid ball of that diameter, so you can build it from the bottom up.
What is the difference between a circle and an ellipse?
A circle uses one diameter. An ellipse uses a width and a depth, for oval floors, stadiums and boat hulls.
Is the Minecraft circle generator free?
Yes. No sign-in and no download limit. The PNG is drawn in your browser.
