A survival thumbnail sells progress: where the series is now and what is about to happen. The strongest ones pair your character with one clear thing from the episode — a new base, a boss, a rare find — and a short title the eye can read in the suggested-video rail.
One build, one mob or one item, large. A wide landscape with your player in the corner disappears at 168 pixels wide.
Use the same skin and a similar pose across the series so returning viewers spot your video before they read anything.
"I built a castle" or "Day 47" beats "Survival Ep. 12". Put the number in the video title if you need it.
A warm sky behind the player and a rim light on the character separate them from the background without any Photoshop masking.
